Sebastian Vettel was in a class of his own right from the point that he managed to take the lead right after the start and all the way to the checkered flag. He even managed to do the fastest lap of the race by a whole second faster than anybody else while being in the lead. But Fernando Alonso managed to perform a fantastic race starting with a fantastic first lap, from starting his Ferrari from p9 he managed to take the second step on the podium, and a lot of valuable points in his and Ferrari’s hunt for the world championship. Unfortunately Felipe Massa didn’t have one of his better days, but still managed to make the seventh place. Lotus had a dark day with Kimi Räikkönen retiring from the race following problems with his front brakes, and with Romain Grosjean taking the eight place. Mercedes was fast with both Hamilton and Rosberg, but was never a threat to Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel.
Apart from what happened at the front, todays Grand Prix showed some good on track duels with Pastor Maldonado, Esteban Gutierrez, Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil amongst some of them.
Next race is the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the home of Ferrari.
