So finally the Formula 1 season kicks off after the summer break, and what would be a better place than the legendary Spa Francorchamps track in Belgium. In my opinion one of the top three tracks on the calendar, with the other two being Monza and Monaco.
The weather was quite forgiving today, but that will likely change during the weekend, since the Ardennes is known for its downpours.
Ferrari set the pace in FP1 with Fernando Alonso and Red Bull took the best time in FP2 with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. It will be interesting to see tomorrow who will be on top. It will also be interesting to see how the new ‘perforated’ asphalt that covers a large part of the starting grid will differ from the ‘ordinary’ asphalt traction wise when it comes to how the cars will be able to launch when the start goes.
